Neuronostics has been appointed as a supplier on both Government Commercial Agency’s G-Cloud 15 framework and their RM6200 Artificial Intelligence Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS). NHS trusts and health boards can now procure BioEP through a compliant route, without running a full tender of their own.
The problem this solves
More than 70% of routine EEGs are clinically inconclusive. The average time to an epilepsy diagnosis exceeds a year, and misdiagnosis rates can exceed 30%. Trusts that want to address this have often found the evidence easier to assemble than the procurement route. Contract values below a trust’s threshold can still take months to approve when no framework applies.
What changes for buyers
Both frameworks are open to every NHS organisation in the UK.
- G-Cloud 15: Organisations can review the BioEP listing on the Digital Marketplace, compare it against alternatives and award directly. No further competition is required.
- RM6200 AI DPS: Organisations filter the supplier list against their requirements, including the Medical AI Technology category for diagnosis and decision support, then invite matching suppliers to a further competition before award. The DPS runs to February 2029.
Neuronostics will work alongside your procurement and clinical teams on either route.
What organisations are getting
BioEP analyses the background activity in a routine EEG, not seizure activity. Eight predefined features combine through a pre-trained statistical model to produce a single rating, from Very Unsupportive to Very Supportive of an epilepsy diagnosis. The report is returned in under five minutes, from any EEG system, with no additional hardware and no long-term monitoring. Identical inputs always give identical outputs.
In the published validation study (Tait et al., Epilepsia, 2024), covering 814 routine EEGs from eight NHS sites, BioEP achieved a balanced accuracy of 68%, sensitivity of 61% and specificity of 75% in the 281 recordings that were clinically non-contributory. Independent health economic analysis estimates a saving of around £1,700 per patient.
BioEP is a UKCA-marked Class I medical device. Neuronostics is ISO 13485 certified, Cyber Essentials certified and has completed the NHS Digital Technology Assessment Criteria (DTAC), which can be shared with any NHS organisation considering adoption.
Jeremy Andrews, Head of Partnerships: “Procurement should never be the reason a trust cannot adopt something that works. Both routes are open now. We will work with your procurement and clinical teams from the first conversation to the first report.”
